Juli ist die Cousine von Youhei Yamada und die Nichte von Herrn und Frau Yamada. Als sie mit ihrer Mutter zusammen zu den Yamadas fährt, verliebt sie sich sofort in Chi, welche ihre Liebe jedoch nicht erwidert. Durch Julis etwas raue Art Chi zu zeigen, wie lieb sie sie hat und dass sie mit ihr spielen will, fühlt sich Chi angegriffen und eingeschüchtert.

Am Anfang der zweiten Staffel überlegen die Yamadas, ob Chi vielleicht zu Juli und ihrer Mutter ziehen soll, da in ihrer Mietwohnung keine Tiere erlaubt sind. Diese Idee verschwindet aber, als die Yamadas eine tierfreundliche Wohnung in der Nachbarschaft finden.
