Virgil Walsh ist der Graf von Manchester und ein hochangesehenes Mitglied des Hauses von Manchester. Er ist ein Methuselah und im Gegensatz zu den meisten anderen seiner Spezies bekleidet er einen hohen Rang, denn seine Artgenossen leben isoliert von den Menschen im sogenannten Ghetto, wie es einige abwertend nennen, von Londinium. Für dieses Ghetto trägt er die Verantwortung, sowie für die Produktion der Lost Technology, die dort hergestellt wird.

Er weiß zwar, dass er den Methuselah zuwider handelt und teilt auch ihr Bedürfnis, dass sie endlich nicht mehr als Sklaven der Menschen missbraucht werden, aber im Gegensatz zu seiner Schwester Vanessa ist er dagegen dieses Problem mit Gewalt zu lösen. Virgil hat viel mehr die Hoffnung darin, dass Menschen und Methuselah sich in Zukunft annähern. In Krisensituationen zeigt er sein vollstes Potential, denn er bleibt stets ruhig und besonnen.
