Mei aus Kanakas Klasse gehört dort zu den besten Schülerinnen und wird aufgrund der Bestnote bei einem Test kurzerhand von Klassenlehrerin Sumiko zur Klassensprecherin bestimmt, ohne dass sie sie deswegen gefragt hätte. Sie hat keine hervorstechenden Charaktereigenschaften wie Kanaka oder Saki, sondern ist eigentlich recht normal und lernt außerdem fleißig. Wie fast jedem anderen auch, geht ihr Kanakas Hyperaktivität auf den Geist, da selbst normale Unterhaltungen mit ihr zur Qual werden können.
