Die ehemals unter dem Namen ihres Ladens Prism Stone bekannte Formation, bestehend aus Naru Ayase, Ann Fukuhara und Ito Suzuno, benennt sich in „Happy Rain“ um, nachdem weitere Promotion für das Geschäft nicht mehr nötig ist. Der Vorschlag RAIN kam von Ito, da das Wort aus den Anfangsbuchstaben von ihnen dreien und Rinne, die fest zu ihrem Kreis gehört, gebildet wird. Weil Rain (=Regen) alleine einen melancholischen Klang hat, wurde es auf Narus Anregung hin um Happy erweitert. Bereits ihren ersten gemeinsamen Auftritt krönt das Trio mit einem Turniergewinn, als sie erste bei der „Try Groovin Session“ werden, einer Veranstaltung für Dreiergruppen, wo erstmal auch das Prism Live in die Wertung mit einfließt.
