Gyokuyo ist die Tochter von Bishin und reist mit einer Gruppe von Schaustellern durch die Zwölf Königreiche. Da sie noch sehr jung ist, wirkt sie nicht direkt bei den Aufführungen mit, sondern regelt den Eintritt und macht Werbung in den Städten. Während einer ihrer Rundgänge in der Stadt Kasai, trifft Gyokuyo auf Yoko Nakajima und da Gyokuyo sie auf Anhieb sympathisch findet, ist sie später sehr erfreut darüber, als Yoko ihre Gruppe begleitet.
