Ein alter Freund von Fuus Vater und Hinomaru, der eher unter dem Namen Maestro bekannt ist. Früher war er selber begeisterter Fotograph, verlor dieses Hobby aber aus den Augen, nachdem er Japan verlassen hatte. Heutzutage wirkt er eher wie ein kühler, äußerst ernster Manager, der die Arbeiten seines Freundes nunmehr vor allem nach ihrer Qualität bewertet und nicht ihrem Inhalt. Auf Bitte von Hinomaru besucht er nun nach vielen Jahren mal wieder seine Heimatstadt Tamayura, wo derzeit das Bambus-Festival stattfindet. Natürlich lässt er es sich dabei nicht nehmen auch der Familie Sawatari einen Besuch abzustatten, wenngleich er zunächst eher weniger dazu gewillt ist, Fuu, der Tochter seines Freundes, etwas über seine gemeinsamen Tage mit ihrem Vater zu erzählen.
