Neben dem kostbaren Wein, den Budel auf Geheiß von Jamil zu einem befreundeten Lord in der Nachbarstadt liefern soll, begleitet die Karawane zusätzlich noch ein voll beladender Wagen mit Sklaven, die zukünftig in den Minen schuften sollen. Zu ihnen gehören auch diese Frau und ihre kleine Tochter. Als die Karawane von einer Wüsten-Hyazinth angegriffen wird, fällt ihre Tochter aufgrund eines Erdrutsches mitten in den Schlund der Pflanze. All ihr Betteln und Flehen bleibt seitens Budel natürlich ungehört, der lieber zusieht, dass der Wein in Sicherheit gebracht wird.
