Moriya ist seit der Mittelschule mit Azuki Azusa befreundet. Durch ein dummes Missverständnis kam es zu einem Bruch in ihrem Verhältnis, sodass sich eine angespannte Distanz zwischen ihnen entwickelte. Obwohl sie Azusa gegenüber oft schnippisch auftritt und sie aufzieht, liegt sie ihr sehr am Herzen. Sie ist ständig in Begleitung ihrer anderen Mittelschulfreundin, Morii. Die beiden haben Azusa den Spitznamen Komame-chan verpasst.
