Marina unterrichtet an Hikages Schule und ist daher eine Kollegin von Kazuhiko. Er klagt ihr manchmal sein Leid, wenn er wieder einmal bei den Schülern, denen er eigentlich helfen wollte, auf Granit gebissen hat. Sie hört ihm immer geduldig zu, aber die Kunstpause, die sie danach einlegt, gefolgt von einem indifferenten „Ah!“ erweckt in Kazuhiko den Eindruck, dass sie ihn für ziemlich doof hält und ihm das nur nicht direkt ins Gesicht sagen will. Es ist allerdings auch schwierig, aus Marinas Miene irgendetwas herauszulesen, da sie stets ein gütiges Lächeln im Gesicht trägt, so als könnte sie rein gar nichts erschüttern.
