Schon als Kindergartenkind besaß Tsukiko Charakterzüge, die sie teilweise noch in der Gegenwart auszeichnen: Schnelles aber einsilbiges Sprechen, Heißhunger und eine ausgelassene, energetische Persönlichkeit. Da sie bei ihrer Abreise aus Japan noch sehr klein war, konnte sie noch nicht wirklich gut Japanisch sprechen; S-Laute machten ihr besondere Schwierigkeiten und endeten oft als Sch-Laute, etwa dann wenn sie statt »-san« nur ein »-shan« herausbrachte.
