Kaguya Sumeragi ist für ihre vierzehn Jahre bereits eine Erwachsene und als Herrin des Kyouto-Hauses (ein Gremium führender japanischer Industrie-Konglomerate) und Repräsentantin des Sumeragi-Konzerns auch einflussreiche junge Frau. Neben ihren Führungsqualitäten, ist sie eine intelligente und loyale Person, so unterstützt sie auch die Schwarzen Ritter, was nicht zuletzt an Zeros Auftreten liegt. Fasziniert von seiner Ausstrahlung wünscht sie sich sehnlichst seine Gemahlin zu werden und dabei würde sie es auch nicht stören, wenn er etwas mit anderen Frauen anfangen würde.

Als Cousine von Suzaku war sie oft am Kururugi-Schrein, woher sie auch Lelouch und Nunnally zu kennen scheint.

In der zweiten Staffel baut sie eine starke freundschaftliche Beziehung zu Tianzi auf, der Repräsentantin der Chinesischen Föderation.
