Kiyo ist eine der ehemaligen Prostituierten, die Herrin Eboshi um sich geschart hat. Neben ihrer Arbeit in der Eisenhütte am Hochofen wurde sie auch zur Gewehrschützin ausgebildet. Kiyo hat Ihren Mann bei einem Angriff der Wölfe verloren. So ist sie voller Zorn und Hass den Wölfen gegenüber. Von negativen Emotionen aufgewühlt, verliert sie die Kontrolle über ihr Gewehr und schießt Ashitaka quasi versehentlich in den Rücken.
