Yuri Nawano ist eine A-Klasse-Karuta-Spielerin und gehört dem Karuta-Club der Tomihara-West-Oberschule an. Im zweiten Spiel der Vorrunde des Tokioter Regionalturniers trifft ihr Team, wie schon im Halbfinale des Vorjahres, auf die Mizusawa-Oberschule. Sie spielt dabei gegen Akihiro Tsukuba. Yuri hat nun die Position des Kapitäns inne, die im Jahr zuvor noch Sano bekleidete, die inzwischen aber ihren Oberschulabschluss gemacht hat.
