Eita Takei gehört dem von Hiroshi Tsuboguchi trainierten Karuta-Club der Homei-Oberschule an. Im Halbfinale des Tokioter Regionalturniers treffen sie auf die Mizusawa-Oberschule. Er spielt dabei gegen Chihaya Ayase. Auf Anraten seines Trainers versucht er, sie vor Beginn aus dem Konzept zu bringen, indem er ihr hinter vorgehaltener Hand Komplimente macht und nach ihrer Handynummer fragt.
