Sui hat keine kämpferischen Fähigkeiten, aber dafür eine empfindliche spirituelle Wahrnehmung, die bei der Dämonenjagd sehr nützlich ist. Mikoto gibt sich daher alle Mühe sie zu beschützen, da Sui für sie eine treue und enge Freundin ist und sich nicht selber verteidigen kann. Sui kann meist auch nicht mehr tun, als bis zu Mikotos Eingreifen auszuharren, da sie im Ernstfall alleine noch überfordert ist. Sie hegt im Übrigen ebenfalls heimliche Gefühle für Yamato, der mit in ihrem Team ist, hat aber kein Selbstbewusstsein in romantischen Belangen, da sie denkt, er würde sie eventuell gar nicht beachten. Als sie bemerkt, dass im Schwimmbad seine Augen etwas länger, als dass es Zufall sein könnte, auf ihrer Figur ruhen, macht sie das ein wenig glücklich, gleichzeitig ist sie aber auch beschämt.
