Angelehnt an den MK II sollte aus dem Barzam ein sehr leistungsstarker Mobile Suit werden, der fortschrittlich gebaut ist und gleichzeitig nicht allzu viel kostet. Bedingt durch eine zu kurze Entwicklungszeit, die man für diesen Mobile Suit einräumte, kam letztendlich ein starker Mobile Suit heraus, der aber nicht so mächtig ist wie angedacht.
