Genauso wie Chiriko Hamano ist Kaname ein begeisterter Fan der Radiosendung The Midnight Silence, der sie unter dem Pseudonym Frog Princess regelmäßig Briefe zusendet. Weil Kaname natürlich auch mitbekommt, dass hinter Chiriko die nicht minder bekannte Zuhörerin Chi-chan steckt, sucht sie den Kontakt mit ihr und beide Mädchen freunden sich miteinander an. Im Gegensatz zu Chiriko weiß sie allerdings, dass die Sendung weitestgehend einem Skript entspringt, weil sie zudem später einmal selber Drehbuchautorin werden möchte, liegt ihr Interesse auch viel mehr darin Yume Kiuchi kennenzulernen als Joutarou Shijima.
