Er ist der Küster von einem Kirchturm in Frankfurt. Als Heidi einen Tag an seiner Glocke läutet und fragt, ob sie hinauf auf den Kirchturm darf, antwortet er zuerst leicht mürrisch, jedoch legt sich das schnell, als er merkt, dass Heidi es ernst meint. Als sie aber bemerkt, dass es in Frankfurt weit und breit keine Berge gibt, sondern nur Häuser und Straßen, versucht der Küster sie zu beruhigen, weil Heidi sehr großes Heimweh bekommt. Das schafft er aber nur teilweise, indem er ihr von den Wiesen und Bächen außerhalb von Frankfurt erzählt.
