Artemis, der sprechende Kater, ist von Anfang an der Begleiter von Minako Aino bzw. Sailor V. Von ihm bekommt sie ihren Verwandlungsfüller.
Zu Minako hat er ein besonderes Verhältnis, oftmals ist er ihr »gutes Gewissen« und steht ihr im Alltag und auch bei den Kämpfen zur Seite. Außerdem bezeichnet ihn Minako als ihren einzigen wahren Freund. Auch Artemis mag Minako aus vollstem Herzen und kämpft oft mit vollem Einsatz für sie.
Mit Luna kommuniziert er anfangs über einen Spielautomaten im Game Center und berät sie.
Er wird in der Zukunft, in Kristall Tokio, der Vater von Diana sein.
