Ryous Großmutter war diejenige, die Ryou alles über das Kochen beigebracht hat und sich liebevoll um sie kümmerte, während ihre Eltern im Ausland tätig waren. Wie Ryou aber einmal in Erfahrung gebracht hat, war ihre Großmutter vorher, was das Kochen anging, nicht gerade eine Meisterköchin, denn ihre Speisen waren ungenießbar. Erst als Ryou im Kindesalter zu ihr zog, gab sie sich alle Mühe für ihre Enkelin gute Speisen zuzubereiten. Leider verstarb sie nur wenige Jahre später, weswegen Ryou seitdem alleine wohnt.
