Kirins Mutter hält den Zukunftswunsch ihrer Tochter, auf eine Kunstschule in Tokyo zu gehen, für Schwachsinn und versucht es ihr händeringend auszureden, weil sie der Meinung ist, dass Kirin dies doch nicht schaffen würde. Doch der Wille ihrer Tochter ist stärker und so erlaubt sie ihr dennoch vorerst mal, die selbe Nachhilfeschule in Kunst zu besuchen, wie ihre Cousine Ryou. Allerdings liebt sie es auch ihre Tochter etwas aufzuziehen und ärgert sie gerne, doch hier kann Kirin sehr schnell kontern, den ihre Mutter dagegen ist eine absolute Niete in der Küche, was auch ihr Vater bestätigt.
