Bason ist Tao Rens Schutzgeist und war vor seinem Tod ein chinesischer General.

Bason ist Ren absolut treu ergeben und spricht ihn nur mit bocha-chama (jap. kleiner Herr) an. Bason ist physisch unglaublich stark und kann es problemlos mit Yohs Schutzgeist Amidamaru aufnehmen. Im Oversoul-Zustand verschmilzt Bason mit Rens Guan Dao und bildet dabei einen goldenen Speer, der mit der Chuuka Zanmai-Attacke (eng. Vorpal Dance) ein wahres Feuerwerk von Speerstichen auf seine Gegner niederprasseln lässt. Im Big Oversoul-Zustand wächst Bason auf enorme Größe an und seine Kraft wächst dabei um ein Vielfaches.
