Der Hohepriester bietet Shiraho und Yakumo bei ihrer Flucht vor den Dorfbewohnern Unterschlupf und ein sicheres Versteck. Jedoch versteht er die Lage, in der sich Shiraho und Yakumo befinden besser, als dies Shiraho tut und rät ihr zu einem Schritt, den sie nie in Betracht gezogen hätte: Zum ihrem eigenen Wohle ihr Baby zu opfern und dann ein neues Leben zu beginnen.
