Minagis Mutter trifft zum ersten Mal auf Yukito Kunisaki als diese gerade eine Unmenge an Reis gekauft hat. Sie meint ihre Tochter esse soviel.
Später stellt sich heraus, dass Minagis Mutter geistig verwirrt ist und ihr Umfeld nicht mehr richtig wahrnimmt. Nach dem Tod ihrer zweiten Tochter Michiru, die ihr unendlich viel bedeutet hatte, floh sie in ihre eigene kleine Welt, in der ihre Tochter immer noch existierte. Seit diesem Zeitpunkt vergaß sie ihre erstgeborene Tochter Minagi und betrachtete sie als ihre geliebte Michiru. Um ihre Mutter nicht verletzen, spielt Minagi bis heute dieses Spiel mit, jedoch sehr zu ihrem eigenen Leid. Erst durch das Auftauchen von Yukito verbessert sich das Familienverhältnis und der Zustand von Minagis Mutter.
