Michio Hanyuu ist der Vater von Reiko Hanyuu und war zu Lebzeiten ein berühmter Maler. Nachdem seine Frau ihn betrogen und verlassen hat, fing er an, die Menschen zu hassen. Sein letztes Gemälde malte er mit so viel Hass, dass seine Seele in das Gemälde zog und ihn in einen Oni (鬼 - Dämon) verwandelte. Als Dämon griff er jede Person an, die seiner Tochter nahe kam, um wenigstens sie an seiner Seite behalten zu können.
