Varie Fanel ist eine Drakonierin und Ehefrau von Fanelias König Goau Fanel. Ihr ältester Sohn ist Folken Fanel und ihr jüngerer Sohn ist Van Fanel.

Varie hat einen mütterlichen Beschützerinstinkt, deswegen ist sie um ihre Kinder wegen der drakonischen Abstammung besorgt. Der Verlust ihres Ehemanns und das Verschwinden ihres Sohnes Folken brechen ihr Herz, deshalb verschwindet Varie, vermutlich auf der Suche nach ihrem Sohn Folken, in den Wäldern nahe dem Drachennestbau.
