Shouko ist zu Beginn der Serie aus Amerika zurückgekehrt, wo die Japanerin für einige Zeit gelebt hat. Während ihres Amerikaaufenthaltes lernte sie Hiro Iokawa kennen, zu dem sie tiefe Gefühle entwickelte. Ihre Person ist als sehr ruhig und zurückhaltend zu beschreiben.
