Rem ist der Schülersprecher der Shikō-Akademie. Er wirkt stets beherrscht und sogar ein klein wenig gefühlskalt. Wer ihn aber länger kennt, weiß, dass sich hinter der gleichgültigen Fassade auch wahre Gefühle verstecken. Diese Gefühle entwickeln sich im Laufe der Handlung für Ritsuka. Zunächst nur bedacht, das Grimoire zu bekommen, versucht Rem sie für sich zu gewinnen und will sich nicht eingestehen, dass er eigentlich Gefühle für sie hegt. Doch im Laufe der Zeit kann er seine Gefühle nicht länger verleugnen und setzt alles daran, dass Ritsuka dies erkennt. Allerdings hat er dort noch einige Konkurrenten aus dem Schülerrat.
