Reiji war mit Shuu im ständigen Kampf um den Platz des Nachfolgers. Doch anders als dieser hielt er sich an alle Regeln, die seine Mutter ihm auferlegte und lernte unablässig. So hat er seine kalte Art bis heute beibehalten, da er seitens seiner Mutter nie richtige Zuneigung erfuhr. Schon damals war er auf seinen Bruder neidisch, da dieser trotz seiner Fehler mehr Aufmerksamkeit erhielt als er.
