Die Mutter von Kodama hat ihren Sohn als Baby am Berg ausgesetzt, da sie nicht für alle ihre Kinder sorgen konnte. Allerdings starben diese früh und aus diesem Grund nahm sie ihn wieder bei sich auf (er überlebte dank Mujika als Säugling). Nun nach dem Verschwinden von Mujika holt sie sich Ratschläge bei ihrem Sohn, schließlich war dieser lange Zeit dessen Lehrling.
