Izumi ist ein junges Mädchen, welches Ichitaka Seto in seinen Sommerferien kennen lernt. Sie hat sich vor kurzem von ihrem Freund getrennt und möchte nun symbolisch mit diesem Schluss machen, indem sie den von ihm geschenkten Ring ins Meer wirft - Ichitaka hilft ihr dabei, obwohl er erst angenommen hat der Ring wäre ihr aus Versehen ins Meer gefallen. Für Izumi ist Liebe sehr wichtig und sie mag keine Männer, die dahingehend unentschlossen sind. Teils wirkt sie auch etwas unbeholfen und wankelmütig, so dass sie sich selber ziemlich schnell in jemanden verlieben kann. Während ihre Rolle im Anime recht kurz gehalten ist, ist jene im Manga etwas komplexer und wird weiter gesponnen.
