Kazusa ist die zweitälteste der Sugimoto-Geschwister und eine sehr freundliche und zurückhaltende Frau. Im Umgang mit anderen bleibt sie stets ruhig und höflich, ansonsten ist sie allerdings eher eigenbrötlerisch und beschäftigt sich viel mit dem Zeichnen von Gemälden. Einst war sie Kunstlehrerin an der Fujigaya-Mädchenschule, wodurch sie auch ihren späteren Verlobten Masanori Kagami kennen lernte. Ihren Beruf gab sie jedoch auf, ihre Liebe zu Kagami hielt allerdings an, so dass die beiden schon bald eine Eheschließung planten.
