Als Oberbutler der Zoldyck-Familie und Verwalter dessen Anwesens, obliegt es ihm Gäste in Empfang zu nehmen oder diese vorher abzuweisen, falls deren Besuch unerwünscht ist. Unter seinen Fittichen befindet sich auch Kanaria, von der er absolute Loyalität und Gehorsam erwartet; er selber verfügt zudem über unglaubliche Reflexe. Auf den ersten Blick mag er sehr emotionslos wirken, aber insbesondere den jungen Herrn, Killua Zoldyck, sieht er beinahe schon wie seinen eigenen Sohn an, außerdem soll er »schlechte« Menschen so ganz und gar nicht mögen.
