Der japanische Biologe ist Vorsitzender des Forschungslabors von Ookoshi Pharmaceutical und hat gegen den äußerst gefährlichen und vor allem tödlichen UA-Virus ein Gegenmittel entwickelt. Die erste Testperson dieses Anti-Virus stellte dabei seine eigene Tochter, Maria Oosawa dar, die ansonsten gestorben wäre. Allerdings kann sie sich an den damaligen Vorfall nicht mehr erinnern. Beide scheinen zudem auch keinen allzu engen Kontakt miteinander zu pflegen.
