Die äußerst attraktive Witwe Arisa Yuzuki sucht den Privatdetektiv Gai Kurasawa auf, um ihn zu beauftragen, nach ihrer entlaufenen Katze Miko zu suchen. Der nach langweiliger Routine aussehende Fall entwickelt sich aber zu einem Puzzle mit vielen Verstrickungen und doppeltem Boden, also ganz nach dem Geschmack von Gai, zumal Arisa vor ihm auch einiges im Verborgenen gehalten hat.
