Mit ihrem Breitschwert tötet Sakura Phantome im Auftrag von Tokko, der zweiten Abteilung der Mobilen Spezialeinheit. Als Symbiont besitzt sie übermenschliche Kräfte, die ihr im Kampf von großem Nutzen sind.
Von ihrem Charakter her ist sie eher die schweigsame und zurückhaltende Einzelgängerin. Schon als Kind hat sie immer alleine gespielt, wofür sie des Öfteren gehänselt wurde.
Auch Sakura hat beim Machida-Massaker ihre Eltern verloren. Ihren Bruder Hiroki, an dem sie sehr hing und der seitdem im Koma liegt, besucht sie ständig im Krankenhaus. Für Ranmaru, den sie noch aus ihrer Kindheit kennt und der als einziger immer sehr nett zu ihr war, scheint sie etwas zu empfinden.
