Haru ist die Freundin ihrer beiden Klassenkameraden Furuichi und Akiyuki. Sie hat eine starke Persönlichkeit und ziemlich gute Fertigkeiten in Martial Arts. Haru ist die erste Person, die den Xam'd nach dem Busunfall entdeckt. Als sie herausfindet, dass die Kreatur in Wirklichkeit ihr bester Freund Akiyuki ist, rettet sie ihn vor dem Angriff eines Wachmannes, indem sie ihn niederschlägt. Als Akiyuki nach dem Unfall jedoch von Nakiami mitgenommen wird, hofft sie jeden Tag auf seine Rückkehr. Sie schließt sich dem Militär an, in der Hoffnung ihn dadurch wiederzufinden, wird jedoch bald von Zweifeln geplagt, welche Seite die Richtige ist.
