Der großgewachsene, breitschultrige Barrio ist so etwas wie der Ruhepol in der Altherrentruppe mit Nero, Jose und Carlos. Meist in ein Buch vertieft, passt auf ihn der Archetyp »sanfter Riese« ganz gut, denn er weiß Nero und Jose ganz gut zu bremsen, wenn die beiden sich mal wieder wegen alter Kamellen in die Haare kriegen, kann aber auch energisch und bestimmend auftreten, wenn es die Situation erfordert. Außerdem trägt er den meist friedlich vor sich hin schlummernden Carlos spazieren, wenn sich die vier woanders hin begeben als das Restaurant Pink Amigo, in dem sie Stammgäste sind. Er beteiligt sich zwar nicht an den ausschweifenden Heldensagen, die vor allem Nero sehr zum Missfallen der jüngeren Gäste gerne vorträgt, lässt es aber auch nicht zu wenn jemand ihren Ruhm vergangener Tage beschmutzen will.
