Der »Betreuer« von Beatrice (von ihm aber meistens nur kurz und knapp Bice genannt) ist eine ungezwungene, sonnige Person und somit praktisch genau das Gegenteil von der schweigsamen Beatrice. Ihre Art macht ihm offenbar nichts aus und so quatscht er sie gelegentlich mit Lebensweisheiten voll, ohne darauf eine Antwort zu bekommen, die er vermutlich selber nicht einmal von ihr erwartet. In seiner Tätigkeit agiert er dennoch professionell und besitzt obendrein noch ein feines Näschen (in wahrsten Sinne des Wortes) für Sprengstoff und andere chemische Stoffe. Somit erklärt es sich, dass Beatrice über die selbe Qualität verfügt und, höchstwahrscheinlich dank der kybernetischen Implantate, die von Bernardo noch übertrifft.
