Gundayu und seine Familie dienen seit nun mehr als 800 Jahren den Nachkommen des Heike Clans. Er kennt Prinzessin Hana von kleinauf und dachte ein Ausflug in die Stadt würde eine willkommene Abwechslung in ihr Leben bringen. Mit einer List bringt er Ryo und Kaori dazu seine Bitte, die Prinzessin zu beschützen, anzunehmen. Warum die Prinzessin in Gefahr schweben soll, darüber hüllt er sich in Schweigen. Dass er was zu verbergen hat, ist ihm schon anzumerken. Gundayu handelt durchdacht und ist ein listiger alter Fuchs. Das Wohlbefinden von Prinzessin Hana ist oberste Priorität für ihn wie auch für Gorobei, selbst wenn seine Methoden etwas merkwürdig erscheinen.
