Luigi Vampa ist der Anführer einer Banditengruppe in der Stadt Luna. Er nimmt Albert als Geisel und verlangt von dessen Freund Franz eine große Summe an Geld für sein Leben. Für die Beschaffung gewährt er auch nicht viel Zeit und nimmt es mit der Pünktlichkeit sehr ernst. Gnade ist dabei ein Fremdwort für ihn.
Als er auf den Grafen trifft, welcher für die Befreiung Alberts gekommen ist, scheint er ihn und seinen wahren Charakter gut zu kennen.
