Die arrogante Hexe aus dem Niemandsland verfolgt Howl und gerät dadurch in Kontakt mit der jungen Sophie Hatter. Sie legt einen Fluch auf diese, wodurch Sophie in eine greisenhafte Frau verwandelt wird und verlässt dann die Stadt. Die Hexe erschuf mit ihrer Magie gallertartige Wesen, die sie als Diener begleiten und sie die meiste Zeit mittels einer Trage durch die Gegend befördern.
