Kazuha ist Kriminalbeamter und läuft bei einer Ermittlung Hyoudou über den Weg. Zu Schulzeiten war Hyoudou ein Raufbold und lief Kazuha immer hinterher. Kazuha hingegen war bei der Schülervertretung und empfand Hyoudou eher als Ärgernis. Nach der mittleren Reife haben sie verschiedene Schulen besucht und sich nicht mehr gesehen. Auch jetzt sind sie noch wie Feuer und Wasser, denn Hyoudou ist ein Yakuza. Als wäre das nicht schlimm genug, bietet er Kazuha Informationen zu seinem aktuellen Fall an ‒ im Tausch gegen eine Nacht mit ihm. Kazuha lehnt natürlich ab, doch Hyoudou lässt sich nicht so leicht entmutigen.
