Seit dem Tod ihrer Mutter sind die beiden Schwestern Tomoe und Mikage mehr oder weniger auf sich allein gestellt, denn ihr Vater kümmert sich nur wenig um sie. Tomoe, die ältere der beiden, will sich mit guten Noten ihren Weg ins College ebnen, doch werden ihre Anstrengungen immer wieder durch allerlei Probleme gestört, die Mikage verursacht. Deren Zuneigung zu Tomoe übersteigt normale geschwisterliche Liebe und sie will, dass sie das Wichtigste in deren Leben ist, wobei sie auch zu rabiateren Mitteln greift um das auszudrücken. Auf ihrer Schule hat Mikage aber wiederum selbst eine heimliche Verehrerin.
