Im späten 19. Jahrhundert treibt ein brutaler Serienmörder und Vampir sein Unwesen in London. Während dieser Zeit trifft der junge Schriftsteller Alan auf ein Mädchen namens Marie, welches anscheinend kurz zuvor von dem Vampir angegriffen wurde. Da sie keine Unterkunft hat, lässt er sie zeitweise bei sich wohnen, im Gegenzug hilft sie im Haushalt. Doch Maries Aufenthalt bleibt nicht ohne Folgen, denn seit sie bei ihm eingezogen ist, wird er von seltsamen Träumen heimgesucht. Was Alan nicht weiß: Marie ist ein Vampir. Doch das ist nicht ihr einziges Geheimnis, denn sie hütet noch ein viel beängstigenderes dunkles Geheimnis, das mit ihrer Vergangenheit und Alans Träumen in Zusammenhang zu stehen scheint. Was wird passieren, wenn ihre Geheimnisse ans Licht kommen?
