Nach einem tragischen Ereignis gelangt die Vollwaise Chibana Meiri nun in das Jiaiin-Mädchenwohnheim. Dieses Institut wurde extra für junge Mädchen ohne Eltern gegründet und jedes neue Mädchen wird warmherzig und mit offenen Armen empfangen. Den Schülerinnen wird angehalten, ihre Mitschüler als Schwestern und die Hausmütter als ihre richtigen Mütter anzusehen. Neben all der Familienidylle gibt es allerdings zwei Regeln, die strikt befolgt werden müssen:
1. Nachts musst du dein Zimmer verschleißen und darfst es auch nicht verlassen.
2. Betritt niemals das Zimmer einer deiner Hausmütter.

Hinter diesen zwei harmlosen Regeln verbirgt sich doch kein tieferer Zweck, oder? Auch werden sie sicherlich nicht die Hoffnung von Chibana Meiri und ihrer Mitschülerin auf ein neues und freudvolleres Leben trüben … oder doch?
