Wir befinden uns in einer Parallelwelt, in der die japanische Eisenbahn nicht privatisiert wurde. Naohito Takayama ist High School Schüler und träumt von einer bequemen Zukunft als Angestellter bei der hochklassigen Japanischen Nationalen Eisenbahn. Er wird als Praktikant dem Eisenbahn-Sicherheitsdienst zugeteilt, einer Ansammlung von schrägen Charakteren, wie etwa Sakurai, die Männer nicht ausstehen kann. Dem nicht genug hat sich auch eine Extremistengruppe namens »RJ« zum Ziel gesetzt die staatliche Bahn zu privatisieren.
