Der Manga beinhaltet in den drei Kapiteln je eine Kurzgeschichte.

Die ersten beiden Kurzgeschichten (Eastern Eastern 1 & 2) erzählen vom historischen Moment, in dem Japan »abendländisch« wurde, aus der Sicht eines kleinen Jungen, der wirkliche und wahre Männer, die Samurai der Vergangenheit, schätzt.
Die dritte Geschichte, UMA (Unbelievable Mountain Angel), ist eine Tour durch die Berge, die die zwei Hauptcharaktere machen, um auf Bigfoot, Chupacabra, ein Ufo und noch mehr zu treffen... eine Art von lustig »animiertem« Abenteuer.

In EASTERN EASTERN, la storia in due episodi che da’ il titolo al volume, Osada ci racconta in maniera dinamica e con il solito, ben noto piacevolissimo tratto, il momento storico in cui il Giappone diventò… ‘occidentale’, attraverso gli occhi di un ragazzino col mito degli Uomini Veri, i Samurai del passato. A completare il volume, UMA: UNBELIEVABLE MOUNTAIN ANGEL, una ‘scarpinata’ fra le montagne che porterà i due protagonisti a contatto con bigfoot, chupacabra, ufo (e chi più ne ha, più ne metta), in una divertentissima avventura ‘animata’: sconsigliato ai lettori ‘statici’, in quanto i personaggi si muovono DAVVERO ed escono dalle pagine prendendo vita propria!
