Hikari, la protagonista di questo manga, è una tipica ragazza appassionata di sport che, improvvisamente, scopre l’amore per la ginnastica ritmica e decide di realizzare il sogno di diventare campionessa in questa disciplina. Non essendo molto capace ma dotata di un grande talento, comincerà la sua scalata nel mondo dell’agonismo col sostegno del campione juniores di ginnastica artistica Takaaki Ohishi (Willy nel cartone). Inevitabilmente Hikari inizierà a provare molto affetto per questo ragazzo che, purtroppo, la considererà solo una buona amica e una ragazza dalle grandi doti. In ogni caso questo sentimento, anche se non ricambiato nel modo giusto, non farà che peggiorare i rapporti che la ragazza ha con miglior ginnasta della scuola: la promettente Hazuki (Debbie nel cartone) contemporaneamente sua amica e rivale che, a sua volta, è innamorata di Takaaki. Le due rivali sono entrambe ottime ginnaste, e si ritroveranno spesso a lottare, sebbene con stili molto differenti, l’una contro l’altra per la conquista dei migliori titoli durante le gare e per dar filo da torcere alle più famose compionesse.
