Akiras älterer Bruder Atsushi wird bereits seit zwei Jahren vermisst. Als schon alle Hoffnung verloren scheint, taucht plötzlich die mysteriöse Rei Aoyama vor seinem Haus auf und erklärt Akira, dass sie ihn auf eine Insel namens Higanjima bringen soll, wo sie seinen Bruder zuletzt gesehen hat. Doch das ist noch nicht alles, denn die sonderbare Frau besteht darauf, dass Akira im Gegenzug ein paar Freunde mitnehmen soll.
